Discover Mount Rigi, nicknamed the "Queen of the Mountains", on a day trip from Zurich!
You'll start your day with a comfortable coach ride through central Switzerland, skirting the shores of beautiful Lake Lucerne to Weggis, a charming summer resort. You'll be accompanied by a guide during the journey, who will provide commentary and anecdotes about the region.
At Weggis, you'll take a self-guided cable car to the car-free village of Rigi Kaltbad, offering breathtaking views of the lake. From here, you'll board Europe's first mountain railway to Rigi Kulm, culminating at 1,797 meters above sea level. At the summit, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and snow-covered Alps.
After exploring the well-maintained hiking trails or relaxing in a mountain restaurant, you'll take the cogwheel train down to Vitznau. You will then embark, again independently, on a one-hour cruise on Lake Lucerne, allowing you to admire the scenery from the water.
Your excursion will continue to Lucerne, where you will have free time to discover the medieval old town, the famous Chapel Bridge, the baroque Jesuit church and the Culture and Congress Center (KKL). At the end of the day, you'll be reunited with your guide for the return coach trip to Zurich.
