Discover Tokyo by night by spending an evening in the Shinjuku district!
Shinjuku is one of Tokyo's main nightlife districts: locals and tourists alike gather after dark to eat, drink and have plenty of fun. Enjoy a taste of Tokyo's nightlife with this guided tour, which will take you to the liveliest parts of Shinjuku!
After meeting up with your guide, the evening will begin in an izakaya, a kind of Japanese bar-bistro where you can drink and eat on the go. You'll meet the rest of the tour group over a drink and a snack.
You'll continue your discovery of Shinjuku at Omoide Yokocho, a group of alleyways lined with small bars and restaurants and a famous Tokyo hang-out location. There's a range of establishments, from yakitori (grilled kebabs) stalls to soba (buckwheat noodles) restaurants and old-fashioned tearooms.
Next stop: Kabukicho, the main nightlife district with hundreds of shops, restaurants, karaoke bars and nightclubs. No time to get bored in these bustling streets lit up at night by countless neon lights!
The evening will end in Golden Gai, another popular nightlife district. Golden Gai is a labyrinth of alleyways where you'll find numerous small bars, most of which can only take six or eight people at a time. You'll enter one of your guide's favourite bars and enjoy another drink.
At the end of the tour, your guide will be able to show you how to get back to your hotel or your next port of call. You're free to spend the rest of the evening in Shinjuku if you like!
