Discover Palermo, the capital of Sicily & visit the Cathedral, the Palazzo Normanni and the Mercato del Capo!
After a transfer from your accommodation located in the area of Marsala or Mazara del Vallo on the west coast of the island, you will take the road to Palermo. You will arrive in the Sicilian capital after about one and a half hour's drive.
Located in the north-west of the island, Palermo is home to no less than seven UNESCO World Heritage monuments. Palermo's architecture is a perfect blend of Moorish, Byzantine and Italian influences that bear witness to the many different periods of rule the island has undergone.
In the morning you will visit Palermo Cathedral, a true masterpiece built in Gothic-Catalan and Neo-Classical style. Your tour will continue with an exploration of the Norman Palace, built in the 9th century, which is located a few steps from the Cathedral. You will then visit the Mercato del Capo where you can experience the local culture.
You will have lunch in one of Palermo's many traditional trattorias and then enjoy two hours of free time to visit the city at your own pace.
You will be driven back to your accommodation after a day in the vibrant Sicilian capital.
