Discover Rio de Janeiro on 2 wheels! Explore the Marvelous City in an original way with this guided bicycle tour.
Your bike ride will begin in the Ipanema district. The Ipanema beach was propelled onto the world stage with Tom Jobin's famous song "Girl from Ipanema". You will take the tunnel which links the lagoon to the seafront, separating Ipanema and Leblon beaches.
As you pedal around the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon, look up and admire the Christ the Redeemer statue on top of Corcovado, and all the surrounding mountains which overlook the wealthy districts of Leblon, Ipanema and Lagoa.
The cycle route that runs around the edge of the lagoon will take you through several parks and past the HQ of the Flamengo club, Rio's most popular football team. You guide will explain to you how a rivalry between the city's two football teams started around the lagoon, at a time where Aviron was the most popular sport in Rio.
