記述

The Santa Marta favela is a shantytown in the Botafogo district; it was pacified by Rio's military police in 2008. You will be driven in a Jeep up the Dona Marta hill where you will be able to visit the shantytown's cultural centre and a shop selling artisan goods.

Follow your guide through its alleyways to see everyday life in a Brazilian favela. Santa Marta is famous as the setting for the Michael Jackson video 'They don't care about us'.

Then you will head for Tijuca forest where you will take a half-hour hike among the forest's protected plants and waterfalls.
