Taste a variety of Portuguese wines (Alentejo, Douro, Vinho Verde, Porto...) in typical bars and taverns, then enjoy a Fado performance!
You'll meet your guide in the center of Porto, in front of the Lion Fountain in Place Gomes Teixeira. After a brief introduction by your guide, you'll make your first stop at a historic café. Your guide will tell you more about the history of this café and its place in Fado culture, before inviting you to enjoy a traditional aperitif.
After a warm welcome, you'll follow your guide through Porto's cobbled streets to a more intimate bar. You'll taste regional wines from Alentejo and Douro, two whites and two reds, accompanied by Portuguese cheeses and sausages.
Your tour continues with a third stop at a taberna, a traditional tavern, where you'll travel back to northern Portugal. Enjoy a Vinho Verde wine with Portuguese pâté.
On the way to the Fado performance, your guide will make a slight detour to a belvedere from which you can admire Porto's rooftops, where a surprise awaits you...
Finally, you'll be treated to a performance of Fado, a typical Portuguese art form that blends song and dance through profound themes such as love and saudade, the feeling of missing someone. Attending a Fado performance is a must if you're visiting Porto or Portugal in general.
