Discover the oldest trail in Arizona and the route of the Gold Rush, the Apache Trail.
After being picked up at your hotel in Phoenix, Scottsdale or Tempe, you will head to the ghost town of Goldfield. Between 1892 and 1897, this town was the top destination for gold miners, until the gold ran out. Upon arrival, your guide will show you around the town and you can learn some gold prospecting techniques.
Your day out will continue with a cruise on Canyon Lake on board a steamboat. From the boat, you can take in the spectacular views of the Superstition Mountains.
Next, you will head to the small village of Tortilla Flat which was once the final stagecoach stop on the Apache Trail. After this stop, you will continue your journey to the Superstition Mountains. Legend has it that a German immigrant by the name of Jacob Waltz found a goldmine there and took the secret of its location to his grave. Explorers still look for it today.
You will be taken back to your hotel at the end of the day.
