In just one day, and in the company of a professional guide, visit the city of Lisbon on foot, by bike and by boat from the Tagus!
Make your way to Don Pedro IV Square, also historically known as Rossio Square, and set off on a guided walking tour to Restauradores Square.
You'll board the Glória funicular, Lisbon's must-see yellow funicular linking the Baixa and Bairro Alto districts. You'll descend to Bairro Alto to discover one of the finest panoramic views from the São Pedro de Alcântara belvedere.
You'll pass the Church of St. Roch and its chapel, the ruins of the Carmelite convent dating from 1755, and then cross the Baixa district, Lisbon's historic and commercial heart, before reaching the Alfama district.
In Alfama, you'll see Portugal's oldest cathedral, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maior, also known as Sé de Lisbonne, and make your way to the Praça do Comércio (Trade Square). This square will be the starting point for your second activity of the day, cycling.
You'll then embark on a 7-kilometer bike tour along the Tagus River, taking in the April 25th Bridge and the modern architecture of the MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology), before reaching the Belém district for a second guided walking tour.
The port district of Belém will immerse you in 16th-century architecture, with a stop at the Hieronymites (Jerónimos) monastery, followed by a stop at the Pastéis de Belém pastry shop, founded in 1837, to sample a traditional pastel de nata. You'll finish your visit at the Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage site whose function was to defend the city from sea attacks in the 16th century.
Finally, you'll climb aboard a boat for a cruise on the Tagus River and observe the city from the water. The cruise ends near the Praça do Comércio.
