Discover the volcanic island of Santa Fe on a cruise and swim with the unique creatures of the Galápagos!
Starting from the port of Puerto Ayora located on the island of Santa Cruz, hop aboard a boat to the island of Santa Fe for a crossing of between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours (depending on sea conditions). As you approach the island, you might just spot the Galápagos sea lions and seals, as well as some rare bird species that inhabit the island's beaches.
Begin your island tour with a walk along the beach of Barrington Bay, home to a small colony of sea lions. Known for their curiosity, they may come and say hi to you during your walk.
You'll then head to the giant cactus forest in the north-west of the island. Cacti can grow up to 10 metres and are the tallest plants found on the Galápagos Islands. You'll have the opportunity to see two of the island's unique species, the Santa Fe Iguana and the Galápagos Hawk. Other animals such as the Galápagos rice rat and the lava lizard can be seen chasing the birds.
Head off on a 3 km hike up to the top of the island. You'll enjoy panoramic views of Santa Fe and the cactus forest. Finally, it'll be time to go back to Barrington Bay beach for your last activity. In a tranquil paradise of shallow turquoise waters, you'll don your snorkelling gear and swim alongside the Galápagos sea lions. Spot a vast array of colourful fish also swimming in these waters.
A packed lunch will be provided. Savour a typical Ecuadorian meal. At the end of the day, you'll be driven back to Puerto Ayora.
