Embark on a cruise through the Ria Formosa Natural Park, considered the Algarve's paradise, and visit the islands of Deserta and Farol!
Departing from the port of Faro, you'll board a comfortable boat with a maximum capacity of 11 passengers. You'll begin your cruise in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a protected area stretching no less than 60 kilometers along the Algarve. The Ria Formosa Natural Park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including many species of birds.
Throughout the cruise, you'll see endemic and protected species, and your guide on board will tell you the history of this place and why it must continue to be preserved.
Your first stop is Deserta Island, or Ilha Deserta. This isolated, deserted island is home to Cape Santa Maria, the southernmost point of continental Portugal. You'll have an hour's free time to wander between the sand dunes of Ilha Deserta and enjoy its crystal-clear waters, a true paradise.
You'll then climb back on board your boat and head for Farol Island, or Ilha do Farol, a charming island famous for its 1851 lighthouse. This island is home to colorful houses, a pier and beaches as far as the eye can see. Here, too, you'll enjoy an hour's free time to explore the island, swim or enjoy a cool drink.
When the time is up, you'll rejoin your crew and re-board your boat. You'll finish the cruise and return to Faro harbor after a small-group discovery of the Ria Formosa Natural Park and its confidential islands.
