You will then wander through the famous "Lost Citadel" and immerse yourself in the fascinating history of Machu Picchu. Surrounded by steep mountains, Machu Picchu rises from the rainforest and offers breathtaking views.
Exploring the site's countless nooks and crannies, you'll be impressed by its immaculate preservation and rich natural environment. The flora and fauna of this wonder of the world are particularly diverse, with over 377 species of butterfly and 200 species of orchid! You will also see the citadel buildings, such as the Temple of the Three Windows or the Intihuatana, and learn more about the history of the famous Inca civilisation.
With the optional bus, you'll take the famous Hiram Bingham route, named after the explorer who discovered Machu Picchu. At the end of your visit, you will take the return bus to Aguas Calientes.
