Enjoy an authentic experience at Mount Qingcheng and Dujiangyan on a 1-day guided excursion!
A shuttle bus will collect you from your hotel and take you to the Dujiangyan irrigation system, a technical feat completed 2,000 years ago.
Your guide will tell you all about this irrigation system, which dates from 256 BCE, in Mandarin. This is the oldest dam in the world and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Dujiangyan irrigation system was created to meet three objectives: flood control, irrigation of the Chengdu plain and to clear sand.
After a lunch of local delicacies, you will be taken to the Mount Qingcheng Taoist temple. Then, board a cable car (option payable on the day), which will take you to see cultural artefacts and the historical sites perched high in the mountains, such as Jianfu Palace, Shangqing Palace and Tianshi Cave. During your descent on foot, you will see many Taoist temples.
The shuttle bus will then take you back to your hotel.
